Kenyatta Washington, 19, of the 1300 block of Hanover Court, Champaign, Stole four thousand dollars from the cash drawer at Home Depot in Champaign.

A former employee of a Champaign store was ordered Tuesday to repay $4,000 she stole.

Kenyatta Washington, 19, of the 1300 block of Hanover Court, Champaign, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Champaign County Judge Tom Difanis to a single count of felony theft. She admitted that between late May and July 6, 2013, while employed as a cashier for Home Depot, 320 Bloomington Road, she stole cash from her cash drawer.

Assistant State's Attorney Troy Lozar said Washington, who had no prior convictions, was recorded on videotape stealing on several occasions.

She was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to repay the $4,000.

In exchange for her plea, another felony case accusing her of using a forged credit or debit card in December was dismissed.
