Three men are being held at the county jail following their arrests during a traffic stop over the weekend.
Ronez William Young, 19, who listed an address in the 1200 block of West Eureka Street, Urbana, was charged on Monday with driving under the influence of drugs or an intoxicating compound and obstructing justice.
He is being held at the Champaign County Jail on $50,000 bond and is due back in court on Tuesday.
Shaundrell Brown, 19, who listed an address in the 1600 block of West White Street, Champaign, was charged on Monday with unlawful possession of a weapon, defacing the identification marks on a firearm, possessing a controlled substance and obstructing justice.
He is being held at the Champaign County Jail on $25,000 bond and is due back in court on April 1.
Adrian Maurice Dorsey, 20, who listed an address in the 1100 block of Austin Drive, Urbana, was charged on Monday with being a felon possession or using a firearm, defacing the identification marks of a firearm and possessing a controlled substance.
He is being held at the Champaign County Jail on $7,500 bond and is due back in court on Feb. 12.
According to an Urbana police report, an officer pulled over a vehicle containing Young, Brown, Dorsey and three other people at 11:15 p.m. Saturday for having an expired license plate.
When police began to question the driver and passengers, some of them allegedly lied about their identities, according to the report.
When officers searched the vehicle, they found 2.5 grams (0.088 ounces) of suspected heroin, a loaded gun and some cash in the back seat and made the arrests.
